What if Doterra Essential oils could help you sleep?

Updated: Jun 28, 2023

What if there was a Natural solution to your lack of sleep?

When I started using Essential Oils I was amazed at how many different uses they have. One thing I focused on was how they could help us both sleep better. It became clear quickly that they were going to help us get more quality sleep and sleep longer. This was the turning point for me to start my business I wanted to share the sleep solutions we had discovered with everyone.  I am going to share those with you today.  But 1st some facts.

Americans are lacking sleep….pure and simple we are not sleeping long enough or well enough.

I ask people all the time how they are and the number one answer is “tired”.  The biggest problem people don’t take it seriously I am just not sleeping no big deal.  It is a huge deal especially over time.  So what are the dangers?  Long term dangers: Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Obesity and depression are among the chronic diseases that come from lack of sleep.  Not scary enough?  Here is a stat from the CDC on Drowsy Driving.

The Impact of Drowsy Driving

Drowsy driving poses a serious risk not only for one’s own health and safety, but also for the other people on the road.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates  that between 2005 and 2009 drowsy driving was responsible for an annual average of:

83,000 crashes 37,000 injury crashes 886 fatal crashes (846 fatalities in 2014) These estimates are conservative, though, and up to 6,000 fatal crashes each year may be caused by drowsy drivers.2-4

Reference CDC.

This should scare us to death.  We should find a way to get more sleep. Let’s take it more seriously.  1st Step learning how much sleep we need to get and plan to ge it.

Recommended Amount of Sleep

Newborns 16–18 hours a day Preschool-aged children 11–12 hours a day School-aged children At least 10 hours a day Teens 9–10 hours a day Adults (including the elderly) 7–8 hours a day

Reference CDC

We need to create a sleep routine and we need to stick to it.

*Have a set bedtime Go to bed at the same time every night and get up at the same time everyday.

*Make sure the room is dark, quiet and not too warm or cold

*No computers, tablets , cell phone in the room

*Read, take a warm bath or shower, mediate.

*Use your oils.

How can Essential oils help?

Our 1st step was to diffuse.  Essential oils used aromatically can be very calming and soothing.  We used several different blends I will attach here.  Talking a detox relaxing bath before bed is also a great way to relax and get the oils into your system quickly.  Applying oils to the bottom of your feet….base of spine and back of neck will instantly calm you and result in deep restful sleep.  I really must say here not every oil works for every person you need to find your bliss.  We have several different combos we diffuse and some oils we apply to our feet in a roller bottle.

Suggested restful oils

Lavender, Balance, Serenity, Vetiver, Cedar wood, Grapefruit, Breathe, On Guard, Roman Chamomile Wild Orange

Snoring: Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Rosemary and Breathe

Of course we also have our amazing sleep combo.  If you take 1 to 2 sleep gels before bed and then a drop or 2 on your feet and in the diffuser.  You will sleep like a baby.
