Yoga, Mediation and Stretching 


EVERYTHING you need your strength, your courage, compassion and love.  Everything you need is within you. 

 Get On the Floor: The importance of getting on the floor and get back up. Why is this so important? As scary as this is one of the 1st questions they ask when visiting assisted living is can you get off the floor unassisted? It tells them how much assistance you will need. Do this:  Start slow with 3 to 5 times a week and use whatever you need to use to get back up. But keep doing it everyday and you will see a difference in your strength and ability.  

Next Balance:   standing: lean on one leg and lift your foot up BALANCE change legs and do it often. Habit stack it with other things you do each day, brushing your teeth, washing dishes, cooking.  Some days our balance is better than others that is OK! Keep doing it!

Formal routine or deliberate IE: 10 minutes a day at a certain time

Intensive retreat : Large amount of meditation in a short amount if thime 13 several hours in a short amount of days.

There are many types of Yoga 

To begin it is often suggested you try

Hatha or Flow to learn poses and start slowly. 

Yin Yoga is a slower style and holds poses for a minute to 5 minutes 

Bikram Yoga is a form of hot yoga each class is 90 minutes and has 26 poses and 2 breathing exercises the room is usually 105 degrees and 40 percent humidity.
