You don’t know…what you don’t know. Stop stressing for things you can’t control.

You don’t know what you don’t know.

Have you ever been driving a long and a car comes flying by you and you think slow the hell down!

Did you ever wonder if they just got a phone call saying their spouse was rushed to the hospital?

You don’t know what you don’t know!

Ever been in line at the grocery store with that ever inpatient person pacing, tapping their foot?

Maybe they have a baby at home with their 1st fever and they need to get home with medicine?

What about that retail worker who is in the worst of all worst moods and is taking it out on you?

Ever wonder what the customer in front of them just said to them?

You don’t know what you don’t know!

What about the server who is so distracted and not getting anything right?

Maybe just maybe they are putting themselves through college and its finals week but they can’t take the week off.

So sure, all of these situations are not your fault and yes there is a possibility that car speeding by was a just a jerk and seriously should have left earlier. Actually all of these situations could be just miserable people trying to make you miserable too. But rather than let that happen, What if we gave people the benefit of the doubt imagine the stress you would avoid.

We have a tendency to get all worked up over things beyond our control and let others have way to much power of our feelings and stress us out.

What if we just used “I don’t know what I don’t know as our new mantra.”

So rather than overreact and lose it. Why not do something that will make you feel better all day? I feel amazing when I do something kind. All day long. Kill them with kindness. You may not see it but you could soften someone up with a simple smile and remind them that the whole world is not against them.

Solutions and Ideas

  1. That person who speed by you just think these thoughts “ you should have left earlier” or “I hope everything is OK”

  2. Never go anywhere in a hurry. Do you know how many people I have let cut in front of me? Know why? I never go anywhere in a hurry. If I have to go to the store I go super early or if I can’t I make sure I am not rushed because that just causes undo stress.

  3. See something, say something (not the way you think) if an employee in any situation go above and beyond tell them how very much you appreciate them but go one step further and go to the manager and tell them. I did this last week when 2 kids who had no idea how to mix paint worked together to figure it out and they were just the kindest guys.

  4. Put your phone down and engage with the clerks, waitstaff, people who seat you, ask them how they are.

  5. I carry a dry erase marker and write on bathroom mirrors. “You are enough” You are beautiful” “Take care of you” “Breathe” “smile it brings out your pretty” . Just silly stuff that would make my day.

  6. Write a note on the check saying thank you, you were amazing and be sure to take care of you, you deserve it.

REMEMBER

You don’t know what you don’t know.

Practice patience, understanding and kindness.

You have the ability to change the world one act at a time.

And most importantly you will live a life of less stress.

Live a life you Love ❤
