If you’ve been with me for a while, you know I believe wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s not a fad, a quick fix, or a perfect plan. It’s a lifestyle — built on consistency, common sense, and compassion for the person you’re becoming. And after decades of coaching and living this work myself, it’s time to reintroduce the foundation that’s been guiding it all along:

These 13 simple, practical actions are the heart of how I coach, how I live, and how I help clients create real, lasting change. They’re not rules. They’re not restrictions. They’re reminders — of what works. Of what matters. Of what you can do, starting today.
Why 13? Because wellness has many layers — and these 13 habits touch all of them: Nutrition. Movement. Mindset. Boundaries. Sleep. Mindfulness. Self-respect.
They’re doable. They’re flexible. And they’re built to work for real people with real lives.
What is the Power of 13?
The Power of 13 is a set of daily choices I’ve lived by for over 25 years. They helped me lose 65 pounds and keep it off. They’ve helped hundreds of clients feel empowered instead of overwhelmed. And now, they’ll serve as your roadmap — whether you’re just getting started, stuck in a rut, or ready for a reset.
Here’s a quick peek:
Cut portions in half on everything but vegetables.
Move at least 30 minutes per day.
Sleep at least 8 hours each night (non-negotiable).
Track your food and your feelings.
Double your vegetable intake.
Stretch on purpose 10 to 15 minutes every day.
Read something positive 15 minutes every day.
Learn about and incorporate healthy fats each day.
Eat fruit, portion-controlled, each day.
Create boundaries and enforce them.
Weight-bearing activity 15 to 30 minutes per day, 2 days a week.
Limit white foods: sugar, salt, flour, rice, and pasta.
Pause and be mindful every day.
This is the real stuff. Not rocket science — just what works when you do the work.
